Rusnano and SM.group consider the possibility of creating a distributed nanocenter in Tomsk and Novosibirsk11 Feb 2010
Rusnano together with SM.group studies the possibility of establishing large nanotech center in Tomsk SEZ and Novosibirsk Technopark, Oksana Kozlovskaja said to the first deputy of the Governor of the Tomsk Region, reports "Interfax-Siberia" in Tomsk. This distributed nanocenter will include laboratories and centers of nanotechnology, which have been already established in Tomsk State University and Novosibirsk Academgorodok, - said Oleg Kozlovsky. She also added that three priority orientations have been identified according to which a future nanotechnology center will be developed. First, it is a medical instrumentation and medical electronics. Second - it is all that relates to information and communication technologies, and it focuses on digital TV, means of communication. The third direction is medicine and biotechnology, said the first vice-governor. According to Alexei Barishev the head of investment department of the Tomsk region, currently SM.group, the Administration of the Tomsk Region, JSC "SEZ" and JSC “Technopark of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok" finalize tender documents preparation for Rusnano, which should be submitted up to 15 February. About 4 billion rubles is supposed to be invested, including 2 billion rubles - to create a seed fund for start-ups and 2 billion rubles - for the center for collective use, and technology transfer center, - said A. Barishev. He specified that technology transfer center will deal with experiment product development or technology to the market. At the same time in the center for collective use a large number of specialized equipment required for a group of companies will be located. We will have distributed nanocenter. One part will be related to Novosibirsk, another part will be related to us. There is no clear division yet, - said the head of investment department.
As reported earlier, an agreement which provides for mutual cooperation with administration of the Tomsk region and JSC SM Capital Group in ensuring the conditions for the establishment of innovation infrastructure and the commercialization of scientific and technical developments in the Tomsk region including nanotechnology sphere was signed in the forum, held this autumn in Tomsk. The agreement was signed by the governor of the Region Viktor Kress and the president of JSC Oleg Kirillov. Tomsk SEZ of technology-innovative type was established in December 2005 in Tomsk and specializes in three areas: IT and electronics, medicine and biotechnology, new materials and nanotechnology. Tomsk SEZ is divided into two areas - North and South with an area of about 300 hectares. The total amount of the federal budget and the Tomsk Regional budget, planned for the development of SEZ is about 15 billion rubles by the end of 2010, without targeted federal purpose - oriented programs and funds of private investors.
